4-H Community Clubs
Throughout Los Angeles County, there are 14 4-H Community Clubs where children (ages 5 to 19) participate in a wide variety of hands-on learning projects. There are more than 100 projects to choose from, depending on the kids' interests, including animal care, cooking, photography, marine biology, woodworking and raising guide dogs for the blind.
Community Clubs are led by adult volunteers "leaders" who organize club activities. More than 200 4-H leaders help to keep clubs and other events running smoothly.
Youth develop their leadership skills through the 4-H Clubs, becoming club officers, learning to lead meetings, and taking advantage of leadership opportunities, such as the 4-H State Leadership Conference.
