What is 4-H Summer Camp?
4-H Summer Camp is a week long overnight camp experience for enrolled members of the 4-H Youth Program in Southern California and throughout the country. Volunteer camp staff (minimum age 14), in conjunction with five adult directors plan the camp program from January until camp begins during the third or fourth week of June. At regular meetings and staff training events they plan the games, skits, songs, nature activities, hikes, swimming events, arts and crafts projects, activities, S.E.T. curriculum, etc. to give camp participants a week of fun they will always remember.
The camp activities are planned, organized and led by the youth staff. Campers are divided into four teams with staff members as leaders. Teams meet every day to plan activities such as skits, hikes, attend nature education sessions, team activities and have fun. Camp is a place to meet people and make life-long friendships. You must be at least 8 years old to attend 4-H Camp and currently enrolled in the 4-H youth program. A parent or guardian must accompany 8 year olds at camp as a chaperone.
